A leading global discount supermarket chain known for its highly competitive purchasing and logistics infrastructure has installed Datafuel Fuel Management System technology across it Australian distribution centres.
Impressive growth in the Australian market has led to the opening of nearly 500 supermarkets to date. The company has invested heavily in providing the necessary infrastructure to support this growth which includes its new state based bulk distribution centres.
The Datafuel system enables unmanned user access and management control over fuel facilities located at each site. Fuel facility configurations include standalone pumps, componentised dispensing equipment and electronic tank gauging subsystems. Authorised users can undertake Diesel, Adblue and/or Oil transactions.
Programming, tank and transaction data is transferred between the facility and Datafuels WinFMS software via live data links utilising the supermarket chains LAN. Management have access to a range of automated system notifications, analysis and reporting tools. This includes automated low tank level alarms and email responses.
The supermarket chain demands accurate monthly reconciliation and audit trails of its fuel operations.
Datafuel equipment was originally installed at the company’s first Australian distribution centre 15 years ago. The technology has since undergone several upgrades and has proven to perform reliably and meet the supermarket chains objectives.
